A perfect album for a love story carrying grey shades
Music Directors: Mithoon, Ankit Tiwari, Soch (Band)
Ankit Tiwari, who made a name for itself with Sun raha hai na Aashiqui 2 has done it again prominent in Galliyan topic. The song begins as a slow song, collects rhythms of rock band in the middle and shoots like a mix of melodic sounds of India. The drum sound works in your favor and so does the electric guitar riffs. It has an acoustic version too, where the actor Shraddha Kapoor makes his debut as a singer. His untrained voice raw with constant guitar work sounds pretty nice and Ankit delivered the coup de grace when you join later. Notably the lyrics full of passion written by Manoj Muntashir, which are co-APT for music.
Now for the other guest composers, Soch (Band), comprising the Pakistani singer Adnan and Rabi Ahmed dhool. They have written and composed Awari, that Adnan and New York based Pakistani singer Momina Mustehsan that is beautiful enough to be chosen as a heroine sings. The duo has a tempo and talks about the anguish of love varied. It grows on you through repeated hearing.
Mithoon has written the lyrics of three songs composed by him. One expected him to sing too, but he has refrained strangely. Mohammed Irfan Banjaara croons with all your soul and brings out the pathos associated with the composition. Although for some reason, one imagines it to be filmed on Emraan Hashmi and not Sidharth Malhotra. Oh well … Moving on, Mithoon brings another Pakistani singer (which Mohit Suri is a film after all) Mustafa Zahid Zaroorat. The fast-paced rock ballad brimming with raw emotion and is in keeping with the theme of the film. Arijit Singh takes over the microphone to deliver his magic on Hamdard, a soft romantic number. Your sweet voice provides the perfect icing on the cake for Mithoon.
-All-in-all, the OST of Ek Villain is another winner from Mohit Suri who has a special ability to make the best of his music directors. If you like romantic sentimental tracks with lots of fusion thrown in.
