Tiger burns bright with determination
Director: Sabbir Khan
Cast: Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon and Prakash Raj
Heropanti is a remake of a 2008 film called Parugu Allu Arjun . The new Hindi version remains true to its original, Telugu in each frame and maybe that is the Achilles heel . A shift in the treatment and narrative would have made a better movie .
Older sister Kriti Sanon flees the day of their marriage. Now , her father Prakash Raj is a Haryanvi gift of classes , so all Jatland is after the blood of the daughter and her lover. Bullies pick Tiger and his two friends and rough up the hope that they would cough up the location of the couple. Now, a very ingenious tiger that for some strange reason it is called Bablu in the film could have escaped all along , but the fact that a) the girl he has fallen in the town and b) that it is seen to be the younger sister of the runaway bride . Bablu has been helping couples all the time and now your task is to take the pursuers on a wild goose chase and run away with own younger sister …
The above argument may seem ideal for situations of cat and mouse scenario, but that’s not the case. What follows is mostly Prakash Raj goes all mushy. Now , there’s nothing wrong with that. He is a fabulous actor and carries the emotional anchor of the film on his sturdy shoulders . The problem is that the movie is called Heropanti not Father of the Bride .
Good to see Tiger and Prakash union and the youngest to get to learn what is emoting actor in the process, but we would have loved to see him kick ass in place. Because he’s a gymnast , artiste parkour and martial arts expert trained and excels in situations that allow you to combine their diverse talents . Less talk , more stylized action should have been the rule of thumb . And apparently someone told him that the way Kriti good performance is through a good cry. So she lets go with gay abandon every five minutes while smiling like Miss World the rest of the time . The beautiful actress has to tone down both and just be herself.
Tiger can punch and dance like the best of them and is not a bad actor either. His debut would have been more impressive if they played to their strengths in a better way . He makes a sincere effort to win your audience over and hopefully films that focus on its core strengths in the future to recover effort.
